HOW IS SAMBA TV HANDLING GDPR REGULATIONS?
In June 2017, we continued evolving our privacy practices and policy and hired an EU privacy counsel. We retained privacy experts from Canada, Australia, Brazil, and Argentina to review our policies and practices in the context of the privacy laws of those countries. Most recently, we hired a Data Privacy Officer (DPO) and will continue with updates to include data protection agreements, data protection impact assessments, datamapping, Privacy Shield certification and data protection policies.

Granular controls around privacy:
TARGETING UNDER GDPR
We have signed the standard EU model clauses which enable us to process data outside of the EEA. We have established a legal basis for processing user data for the purposes of targeting advertisements using viewership data across devices. We have provided users control over whether or not their data is used for targeting (limit ad tracking option described above) and what data is available for use in targeting (reset advertising identifier option described above).
Samba is an active member of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”), an industry association that develops the policies around online consumer privacy in the context of interest-based advertising. We comply with the NAI Code of Conduct. Consistent with our commitment to the NAI principles, we provide means for users to opt-out of interest-based advertising based on your web browsing and mobile app usage separate and in addition to on the TV.
