Samba TV Names Ackerman Chief Revenue Officer
AOL’s SVP of Programmatic TV joins the leading provider of cross platform media and measurement, shaping the future of TV, digital and programmatic advertising
San Francisco, August 15 – Samba TV, the leading provider of real-time, audience driven advertising and analytics, today announced that Dan Ackerman has been named Chief Revenue Officer.
In his new role, Dan will be responsible for leading the global revenue efforts for Samba TV, building upon the company’s reputation of helping brands and agencies understand TV viewership and its impact on consumer behavior and purchase.
Prior to joining Samba TV, Dan was SVP of ONE by AOL TV where he and his team helped pioneer the TV industry’s evolution into programmatic buying. Dan is a veteran executive with more than 20 years’ experience driving digital and television ad sales and business development. Dan has previously held executive level sales and advertising strategy roles at CBS Corporation, WideOrbit, Ecast and Jivox.
“With a track record of success in TV, digital and programmatic advertising, and trusted relationships with brands, agencies and media companies, we are excited to have Dan on our leadership team,” says Ashwin Navin, CEO of Samba TV. “Dan’s experience building and leading teams in high-growth environments will be key to helping us further scale our business.”
“Video viewing fragmentation and time shifting are rapidly accelerating across screens. Deterministic, cross platform content and ad exposure data is crucial for marketers to identify, target, reach and connect with their prospective audiences,” according to Ackerman. “Samba TV’s technology and deep understanding of how to integrate digital in a meaningful way with television viewing are helping to change the audience measurement and media landscape and set a new standard. I’m excited to be a part of this growing team.”
2016 has been a year of rapid growth for Samba TV, with a focus on developing a strong management team with deep industry experience. The company recently added former YouTube executive, Serena Satyasai, as VP of Marketing, and Andy Kemp, from AddThis, to head MidWest Sales. Samba TV has experienced a 600 percent increase in year-over-year revenue and has grown to more than 150 employees across 10 global offices.
